Reflections Wall 2: Time: NOW

2-Time-NOW

(Abajo en español)

2.

TIME: NOW
To live for the moment.

Not waiting until you can fill all the empty holes, but understanding that the fact that you have those empty spaces also defines who you are as a person today. Wanting something does not necessarily mean that you are lacking but that you are a person that wants. A finished painting with white spots.

One can be perfectly happy in a condition of desire (given that basic- needs are met), by looking at oneself from outside, realising that one is complete even though one does not possess all the things that are wanted. Happiness should not be understood as having something (ideal job, ideal house, ideal partner, a smart phone, a car, fancy clothes …) but as the joy of being free to live and make the best out of the life that one is been given. I am not saying we should conform and stop dreaming, my point is that we should enjoy now BEING a person that dreams.

“Let no one think that I am against treating ourselves. Let no one think that I propose the asceticism of hermits as the only way to conquer the essence… What I am saying, if anything, is that we should be able to enjoy all those things and also to enjoy without them.” Jorge Bucay.

TIEMPO: AHORA

Jorge Bucay

  1. […] featured is not my own (although it did inspire me to get drawing) and that made me wish my “Time: NOW” folder was big enough to fit a whole book […]
